The Chulalongkorn University Intellectual Property Institute is responsible for protecting the inventions and intellectual property of faculty members and others, including students, beginning with the establishment of the university. Chulalongkorn University adheres to a policy to utilize the benefits gained through research and discoveries that have been registered as intellectual property, patents and copyrights. It also assists faculty members, university staff and students in patent and copyright registration that will contribute to their recognition nationally and internationally.

The university’s innovations and discoveries are often adopted by the private sector in accordance with property right laws and regulations so that all can benefit, the university, the involved individuals, researchers or department as well as outside entities.
