The Chulalongkorn University Faculty Senate was founded under the Chulalongkorn University Act of 1928. It was actually established on 1 October 1969 so that faculty members would have a voice in university academic and activities development The Faculty Senate represents all faculty members in accordance with university regulations. It serves as an advisory body for the university president on the administration of the university and other bodies and functions assigned by the university president. Currently the Faculty Senate is composed of 73 elected representative under the leadership of senate president Associate Professor Phornphan Vachajitaphang, Ph.D. who has been serving in this capacity for past two years. For the past 37 years, the Faculty Senate, in addition to its supervisory and consultancy roles, serves as a Brain Bank of academics for administration, academics, and student and faculty activities.
