Chulalongkorn University Strategies 2012 – 2016 were set to formulate guidelines for the university’s development plan for the period 2012 – 2016. The initiative focuses on different aspects of development and improvement with the objective of raising the university to a level of excellence that will qualify it as a “World Class National University”. To fulfill its mission to be the “Pillar of the Kingdom”, in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of its founding, Chulalongkorn University is employing six strategies, as follows:

“Advancement”

To become a world-class university whose graduates, research, and academic functions attain and maintain high standards of quality.

To serve as the kingdom’s source of knowledge

“Admiration”

 To become a centre of wisdom for the kingdom as a source of knowledge for Thailand’s people, while promoting advanced education to produce highly qualified graduates for the Thai and global society.

To establish a quick, close-knit and efficient management system

“Efficiency”

To be a university whose management is efficient, effective and transparent and takes a participative approach in its administrative activities.

“Sustainability”

To be capable of efficiently managing both its financial and intellectual properties in the short and long terms. It should also be able to establish, foster and utilize relationships with its alumni to help develop the university.

To be a welcoming home for the righteous and competent

“Care”

To promote equal access to education for all and be supportive to all students and employees while also giving full support to the community.

“Happiness”

To be the university of sustainability, with a mission to promote energy conservation, build a liveable environment and establish good relationships as well as support career advancement of all university personnel.
