CU Professors Win Inventors Awards at Innova Barcelona 2017

Dr. Annop Suriyasomboon, a professor in the Department of Animal Husbandry, Faculty of Veterinary Science, and Assistant Professor Dr. Piyasak Chaumpluek of the Department of Botany, Faculty of Science were presented awards for their innovative projects at Innova Barcelona 2017, which was held between 4-6 May 2017 in Barcelona, Spain.

The project entitled “Rabies Smart Assay: A Simple Fluorescence Detection of Rabies Based on Rapid Nucleic Acid Hybridization with Smart Phone Signal Read” received the following awards:

  • Gold Medal with Honorable Mention from the Organising Committee
  • Special Prize from the Ministry of Research and Innovation (Romania)
  • Special Prize from Iran Top Inventors (Iran)
  • INNOVA BARCELONA 2017: in Medicine and Health from the Organising Committee

The project entitled “LiveBooster: Smart Potion for a Better Performance” received the following awards:

  • Gold Medal with Honorable Mention from the Organising Committee
  • Special Prize from the Ministry of Research and Innovation (Romania)

Dr. Annop Suriyasomboon was also presented with the Barcelona Innovation Award: Chevalier Number of the Cross: 20100, Brussels.
