Assistant Professor Kuakarun Krusong of the Department of Biochemistry, Faculty of Science and Assistant Professor Chanyaphan Virulsri of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering of Chulalongkorn University were both granted a 23rd science and technology research grant in agriculture and biology and engineering categories, respectively, by the Thailand Tory Science Foundation: TTSF. The award was presented by Privy Counselor, General Surayud Chulanont, on Friday, 10 March 2017 at the Grand Ballroom, The Okura Prestige.
The Thailand Tory Science Foundation is supported by Toray Industries, Inc. of Japan with its aim to encourage the development of “Science and Technology” in Thailand. Each year, the foundation supports scientists and researchers by providing grants for various projects in engineering, chemistry, agriculture or physics. This year, Assistant Professor Kuakarun Krusong of Chualongkorn University received a grant for research on “The Production of Starch and Digestive Enzymes in the Gastrointestinal Tract – For Use in Healthy Foods” while Assistant Professor Chanyaphan Virulsri received a grant for research on “The Design and Making of a Durable Hydraulic Prosthetic Knees for Disabled People”.
