Humanities includes subjects that deal with humanity such as the inner self, the expression of ideas and beliefs, relations, development and civilization as well as the study through review and analysis of language, culture, philosophy, religion, traditions, and fine arts that man has produced, developed and perpetuated over time.
Chulalongkorn University understands the importance of developing individuals who can conduct research and analysis and become an expert in their field. Therefore, the university has established faculties concentrating on the humanities. These include the Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Architecture and the Faculty of Fine Arts.
Each faculty comprises a number of departments that students can study in according to their interests. Each department includes faculty members, who are respected academics in the chosen fields and devote themselves to imparting their knowledge to their students as well as conducting research, all at the highest international levels.
In addition, the university offers a beautiful environment for learning. Among the many impressive facilities and buildings that stand out are the Mahachulalongkorn Building with its traditional Thai architecture, the Language Institute, faculty libraries, university museums and galleries and numerous modern academic buildings that while meeting the highest international standards retain their Thai identity. |
