The Faculties and Schools System

Once students hve completed their 12 years of primary and secondary education, or Mor 6 (12th grade), or the equivalent, they must then decide on whether to continue their education at a university. A major problem many face is how to decide which faculty to apply to. Often, they will decide they want to change faculties or institutions. This can then mean a loss of time and opportunity as well as finances. Therefore, students should take time and research before making their selection. The following steps can help:

Examine yourself

Evaluate yourself, your interests, character and abilities.Do you have any special talents? Join activities that can help you determine what you enjoy and what subjects capture your attention. This will make it easier to decide on which faculty and department to apply to. Think about what career and future goals you want to pursue. Another important factor to consider is your health as certain faculties set this as one of the criteria for admittance.

Research Faculties

You should try to find out as much as you can about the faculties, its departments, programs and curriculums you might be interested in. Learn what qualifications they require as well as the time and credits needed to graduate. What are the tuition and other fees? What professions and careers can you pursue upon graduation? You should also examine the career markets to learn about future prospects.

Once you have determined what it is you want to study, you still consult with your school advisor as well as search for additional information at the specific faculties' websites by going to http://www/chula.ac.th/chula/th/faculty/index.html or Chula Admissions at http://www.admissions.chula.ac.th/ or the university's Department of Academic Affairs at http://www.academic.chula.ac.th/thaiver/.
