Chulalongkorn University utilizes three grading systems. The first is by the number of points students earn in a course during a term. The second is the norm-referenced system in which a comparison is made with all students registered in the course. Grades are then allocated from the highest A followed in descending order by B+, B, C+, C, D+, D and F, which signifies that the student has failed the course. If a student fails a required course, they must re-register and pass it to to graduate. The student will be required to fulfill all the class requirements, i.e., exams and assignments, but will only be eligible to receive either a Pass (P) or Fail (F) grade. The third grading system practiced for some courses includes just four grades: Very Good, Good, Pass and Fail.
Final Grade Evaluation is based on the following criteria:

Grades are determined according to the teacher and course’s requirements. They will be calculated and announced at the end of each term. Corrections can then be made only during the following term and must receive the approval of the faculty board.
Students themselves are responsible for monitoring their records and meeting necessary requirements for their studies and graduation. They can study the University Regulations that are issued to each student upon their entrance to the university. They can also search for information at specific faculty and institute websites by first visiting our Facultis and Department A-Z page.
