Chula to Host “A Collaborative Meeting on Dengue and Emerging Infectious Diseases (EIDs) 2025”

Bangkok, Thailand – November 19, 2025 — The Faculty of Medicine, Chulalongkorn University, in collaboration with the Thai Red Cross Society, Institut Pasteur du Japon, and the School of Global Health, will organize “A Collaborative Meeting on Dengue and Emerging Infectious Diseases (EIDs) 2025.”
The meeting aims to convene leading global experts to exchange knowledge and discuss surveillance, vector control, and vaccine development, with the shared goal of transforming scientific research into impactful, real-world solutions for dengue prevention and control.
The meeting will feature a series of plenary sessions and symposia addressing key topics in dengue and infectious disease research:
- Plenary 1: Towards Zero Dengue Deaths—Prof. Usa Thisyakorn, Professor of Pediatrics and Director, Tropical Medicine Cluster, Chulalongkorn University
- Plenary 2: Immune Profiling and Dengue/Zika T Cell Vaccine Development—Dr. Tineke Cantaert, Head, Immunology Unit, Institut Pasteur du Cambodge
- Plenary 3: Advances in Dengue Vaccination—Prof. Terapong Tantawichien, Professor of Medicine and Acting Director, Thai Red Cross AIDS and Infectious Diseases Research Centre
The meeting will also include four thematic symposia:
- Virology: Emerging viral surveillance and evolution genetics during outbreaks
- Dengue Therapeutics: Future directions in arbovirus therapeutics and synthetic diversification
- Dengue Immunology: Immune profiling and Dengue/Zika T-cell vaccine development
- Dengue Control: Entomology in Southeast Asia and strategic vector control
The event will be held at the Mongkolnavin Conference Room, 10th Floor, Sor-Kor Building, King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital, Thai Red Cross Society.
