King Vajiravudh (Rama VI) laid the foundation stone for the university’s academic and administrative buildings, symbolizing the establishment of the country’s first educational institution.

1931
March 14, 1931
King Prajadhipok (Rama VII) delivered a royal address at the first graduation ceremony of Chulalongkorn University.

1946
April 3, 1946
His Majesty King Ananda Mahidol (Rama VIII) presided over the graduation ceremony for the academic year 2487 (1944).

1950
May 21, 1950
His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej (Rama IX), together with Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, presided over the first graduation ceremony during his reign.

Lyndon B. Johnson, the 36th President of the United States, was awarded an honorary doctorate in political science.

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom, accompanied by Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, made her first visit to Chulalongkorn University.
