Royal Birthday Fund
The Chulalongkorn Royal Birthday Commemorative Fund, under the patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, was established to commemorate the 150th anniversary of His Majesty King Chulalongkorn and to promote his royal aspirations for advancing education and knowledge in the nation. The fund supports scholarships, academic development, research, and key initiatives at Chulalongkorn University, contributing to the foundation of sustainable national development.
The Chulalongkorn Royal Birth Anniversary Fund was established in 2003, under the Royal Patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, to commemorate the 150th anniversary of His Majesty King Chulalongkorn’s birth. Her Royal Highness graciously named the fund “Chulalongkorn Royal Birth Anniversary Fund” to honor His Majesty King Chulalongkorn, the Beloved Great King, and to carry forward his royal wishes.
Purpose of the donation
Past performance of the fund
This scholarship was established by Chulalongkorn University to commemorate its 90th anniversary on March 26, 2007. Funded by the Chulalongkorn Royal Birthday Endowment Fund, the scholarship aims to promote the production of doctoral graduates equipped with the knowledge and skills to create new knowledge. Graduates will primarily study and conduct research at Chulalongkorn University, with opportunities to gain further experience at international educational institutions, ensuring they become graduates of international quality.
The restoration and renovation of the auditorium were funded by donations from the Chulalongkorn University Centennial Fund. Faculty from the Faculty of Engineering and the Faculty of Architecture collaborated to assess the damage and design enhancements for the building. Improvements included:
- Architectural and Structural Upgrades
- Electrical Systems
- Air Conditioning
- Sound Systems
- Lighting
- Sanitary Systems
- Surrounding Landscaping (especially around the monuments of King Chulalongkorn and King Vajiravudh)
The aim was to create a harmonious and dignified environment, preserving the university’s unique identity as a vital space for shaping students’ lives from their first steps as students until graduation.
