About

Established in 1958, the Geological Museum of Chulalongkorn University is dedicated to supporting education and disseminating geological knowledge to the public, students, and researchers.

The museum features an extensive collection of rock samples, minerals, fossils, meteorites, and various geomorphological specimens. These displays are accompanied by explanatory materials that detail the evolution of life across the geological time scale, the formation of geographical structures, and the vital role of geological resources in relation to the environment and national development. Additionally, the museum hosts rotating exhibitions that showcase current geological achievements and applications.

Our Services

The Geological Museum serves as an educational resource on earth and geology, offering studies and research through various exhibits and activities:

  • Displaying samples of rocks, minerals, and fossils from various sources
  • Presenting faceted meteorites and meteorite fragments
  • Disseminating knowledge on the geomorphology and geology of Thailand
  • Showcasing the evolution of life according to the geological time scale
  • Featuring a model of the coal stratification in the Mae Moh mine
  • Providing information on geological resources, petroleum exploration, and gold mining
  • Organizing rotating exhibitions to share research findings and applications in geology

Opening Hours

  • Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
  • Closed on public holidays.
  • Free admission. No advance reservation required.
