Dara Phirom Palace Museum, Chiang Mai

A bond of love between two lands

About

The Dara Phirom Palace Museum is located within Dara Phirom Palace in Mae Rim District, Chiang Mai Province. The palace was graciously bestowed by King Vajiravudh (King Rama VI) upon Princess Dara Rasmi and served as her final residence until her passing.

Chulalongkorn University later received the palace as a royal grant and restored it as a museum dedicated to preserving and presenting the life and legacy of Princess Dara Rasmi, particularly her contributions to the promotion of arts, culture, and agriculture in Northern Thailand.

The museum displays royal artifacts, personal belongings, and historical objects related to Princess Dara Rasmi’s royal duties and way of life. It also features exhibitions on Lanna art and culture, connecting the past with the present and providing younger generations with opportunities to learn about and appreciate her wisdom, vision, and benevolence.
