The Thai Snail Museum

Life Beneath the Beautiful Shell

About

The Thai Snail Museum is the first and only museum in Thailand dedicated to collecting and exhibiting terrestrial snails found in the country. Many of these species are of significant biological and ecological interest.

Opened on December 13, 2003, the museum commemorates the 80th anniversary of biology teaching and research at Chulalongkorn University. Exhibits include species that require magnifying glasses for observation, such as the tiny trumpet-billed snail, as well as species with royal names, like the “Emerald Snail,” which are at risk of extinction. This unique focus allows visitors to gain a deeper understanding of the diversity and wonder of snails in Thai nature.
