Chulalongkorn University Archives

About

The Chulalongkorn University Historical Archives serves as the university’s principal institution for preserving and disseminating its historical heritage.

The archives are responsible for collecting, storing, preserving, and providing access to important information related to the history, development, significant events, and notable figures of Chulalongkorn University from its founding to the present day. The archives support research, reference services, and the creation of historical knowledge within the university, while also preserving the institution’s legacy and its connection to the Thai monarchy.

The archives originated from a project established in 1967 to collect and present the university’s history in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of Chulalongkorn University. Over time, the project developed into a permanent institution that now provides both museum and archival services. The museum and exhibition section, located in the Chakrabongse Building, displays valuable historical artifacts and a replica of the Phra Kieo, the university’s royal emblem. The archival section, located in the Borommaratchakumari Building, provides access to documents, photographs, and a wide range of historical materials related to the university.
