Chulalongkorn University Centenary Park is a vital green space that enhances the environment, promotes learning, and improves the quality of life for urban residents. Maintaining the park’s sustainability requires collaborative efforts from everyone, ensuring that this valuable asset remains a part of Thai society for generations to come.

Chulalongkorn University Centenary Park incurs monthly expenses of at least 1 million baht for utilities and management. However, the park’s income currently accounts for only one-tenth of these expenses, primarily from maintenance fees charged by external organizations for their activities. Consequently, Chulalongkorn University allocates a portion of its academic service revenue each month to cover maintenance costs and ensure safety and security for all users.

ตั้งแต่วัSince its opening on March 26, 2017, the 28-rai (approximately 10.8-acre) urban forest in the Suan Luang-Sam Yan area has provided numerous benefits to society, including:

Water Management: Features such as artificial wetlands, infiltration gardens, and detention ponds help slow rainwater runoff, reducing flooding in communities during heavy rainfall.
Air Purification: One mature tree absorbs approximately 21.8 kilograms of carbon dioxide and releases 118 kilograms of oxygen per year—enough to sustain two people.
Educational Opportunities: The park serves as an outdoor nature classroom with eight themed rooms, including the Herb Room, Vine Room, Forest Room, and more.
Architectural Wisdom: Visitors can study the award-winning infrastructure (WLA Awards 2019) and learn about the philosophy of sufficiency economy through exhibitions commemorating His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej.
Community Engagement: The park encourages exercise and recreational activities, such as walking, running, and cycling, with family and friends.
Community Hub: It hosts various activities, including charity walks, cycling events, music performances, health programs, and student showcases.
