The Environmental Research Institute was established on 5 October 1974, in response to the increasing need for environmental research for national development and academic progress at the graduate level. Since then, the institute has been working to provide academic excellence in environmental studies, producing quality human resources and valuable research on environment-related problems. The institute provides information for the mitigation and prevention of environmental problems, and promotes conservation and development for a better environment and quality of life for all.
The institute provides environmental quality monitoring services and laboratory analysis using advanced equipment and instruments with precise and accurate results. Services available to both government and private organizations include physical, chemical, biological, and heavy metal analysis.
