Formerly known as the Merchant Marine Institute (MMI), the Transportation Institute has conducted research and development in transportation and other relevant fields since 2002. It is responsible for spreading knowledge and information about transportation to the public through training, short courses and seminars, and providing consultations to maritime operators, the government, and the private sector about transportation, logistics, and supply chain.
