The Institute of Aquatic Resources Research, Chulalongkorn University, is the leading agency in setting the direction and driving research in aquatic resources. It aims to develop knowledge and innovation for the efficient and sustainable utilization and conservation of these resources, covering fields such as aquaculture, coastal oceanography, aquatic biotechnology, fisheries, and marine science.
The institute serves as a research hub and coordinates collaboration with agencies both within and outside the university to extend research findings into practical applications, as well as support teaching and the development of the capabilities of faculty, researchers, and students in related fields.
In addition, the institute develops databases and information systems on water resources, monitors water quality and the coastal environment, and provides academic services and fosters collaboration with government and private sectors to enhance the management of the country’s water resources and support sustainable development.
