The Institute of Thai Studies aims to be a center of excellence in the creation of knowledge and research in Thai-Tai studies at both national and international levels. It conducts integrated studies and research to develop knowledge that comprehensively connects the social, cultural, and intellectual dimensions of Thai culture.
The institute prioritizes building collaborative networks in Thai-Tai studies, both domestically and internationally, to promote knowledge exchange and continuous academic development. This is coupled with developing a Thai studies information center into an easily accessible resource and utilizing information technology to disseminate knowledge to the public.
Furthermore, the institute is committed to preserving and maintaining Thai wisdom, as well as disseminating research findings at national and international levels to support the sustainable development of Thai and global society.
