The Thai language is the intellectual asset and immunity of the nation.
The Sirindhorn Thai Language Institute, Chulalongkorn University, is a center of knowledge and research in the use of the Thai language, aiming to develop knowledge, innovative teaching methods, as well as formats and standards for testing Thai language proficiency at national and international levels.
The institute conducts teaching and develops curricula to enhance Thai language skills for learners at all levels, including Thai language teachers and the general public, while simultaneously expanding educational opportunities through e-learning to increase access to learning and alleviate the shortage of Thai language teachers.
As the National Thai Language Proficiency Testing Center, the Institute provides internationally standardized testing services for both native Thai speakers (CU-TMC) and speakers of Thai as a foreign language (CU-TFL). It also conducts research and disseminates knowledge on the correct and appropriate use of the Thai language through academic activities and proactive community service.
In addition, the institute provides a variety of academic services, such as Thai language training for the general public, Thai language proficiency testing, and the establishment of academic collaboration networks at both national and international levels to raise the standard of Thai language use and promote sustainable learning.
