Chula Invites You to Experience “The Sea-nema Experience,” an Underwater Cinema Exhibition

Chulalongkorn University, through the Office of Art and Culture, in collaboration with the Aquatic Resources Research Institute (ARRI), the Chula Chalerm La Park Museum (Chulalongkorn University Museum), and the Department of Creative Arts, Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts, invites the public to experience a new form of learning through the exhibition “The Sea-nema Experience: An Underwater Cinema.” This creative exhibition integrates art, science, and environmental studies, presenting stories of the underwater world as if viewed through a cinema, where every human being plays the role of both audience member and co-creator of the story’s ending.

The exhibition is open to the public free of charge from now until May 12, 2026, at the Temporary Exhibition Hall, 1st Floor, Chulalongkorn University Museum. It is open Tuesday–Friday, 9:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m. (closed on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays).

The exhibition addresses key issues related to the marine environmental crisis through contemporary artworks and interactive media, including:

  • Changes in sea temperature and their impact on ecosystem balance
  • The vulnerability of coral reefs, coral bleaching and the loss of marine habitats
  • Warning signals from the sea, conveyed through artistic language that reflects the voice of nature
  • Missions to restore the ocean, portraying the roles of researchers and conservationists working to sustainably rehabilitate marine resources
