Chulalongkorn University prioritizes the mental well-being of its students, providing accessible and personalized counseling services and mental health support channels. This allows students to choose to care for themselves or seek help from professionals, both on-site and online.

Mental health care

Chulalongkorn University has established healthcare channels, both within the university and through online platforms, to ensure students have access to appropriate mental health care tailored to their diverse needs.

Students can access services either in person at the service area or through the provided online channels, making consultation and information easily accessible and aligned with the modern student lifestyle.

Chula Student Wellness Unit

The Chula Student Wellness Unit is a care center that supports students in both their physical and mental health. Students can access psychological counseling services, participate in wellness activities, or utilize relaxation spaces within the center, all within a friendly, private, and supportive environment conducive to appropriate self-care.

MindSpace online platform

Chula Wellness Platform, or MindSpace, is an online platform developed by the Student Wellness Unit of Chulalongkorn University to support students in appropriately and continuously maintaining their mental health and well-being.

The platform includes a variety of content and tools, such as educational articles on mental health, guidelines for coping with stress and pressure, a basic well-being assessment, and an online appointment system for consultations with experts.https://chula.wellness.in.th/ 

This platform is designed to be user-friendly and accessible anytime, anywhere, serving as an important additional channel for students’ mental health care, alongside the university’s counseling services.

One of the platform’s key services is the Counseling Service, offering psychological counseling for students by expert psychologists. Each session lasts approximately 60 minutes and is available both online and on-site to cater to the diverse needs and preferences of students. The service is available Monday to Friday, from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.

In addition, there are services from psychiatrists to provide support in case further assessment or treatment is required.Services are available to both Thai and international students.

Who is this service suitable for?

This service is ideal for students who want to take care of and understand their mental health, whether it’s stress, anxiety, or discomfort in daily life, as well as those who need a safe space to talk.It doesn’t necessarily have to be a serious problem or a diagnosis of illness.

How should I prepare before a consultation?

Students can seek services without prior preparation. However, making notes about the issues or feelings they wish to discuss may help make the consultation more effective.

Can Chulalongkorn University staff, alumni, and the general public use this service?

Psychological counseling services provided under the Student Wellness Promotion Unit.This service is available only to Chulalongkorn University students with current student status.

 

However, faculty, alumni, and the general public can still access some mental health resources, such as psychology articles on the MindSpace platform, live-streamed events via the Facebook Page (depending on the event format and speaker), and Safe Jai, an online platform for self-care and mental well-being.https://safejai.sa.chula.ac.th/th

Psychologist Focusing on…Providing counseling through dialogues to help students understand their thoughts, feelings, and the situations they are facing.We will also work together to find appropriate ways to deal with or resolve problems.

WhilepsychiatristI am a mental health specialist who can…Assess, diagnose, and treat conditions that affect daily life.This could include maintaining academic performance and using medication when necessary. However, treatment doesn’t necessarily mean having a disease; it can be for managing and alleviating symptoms that interfere with daily life.

If it’s not convenient to see a specialist, are there any other options?

Students can begin taking care of their mental health themselves through the MindSpace platform, which offers articles, preliminary assessments, and support tools, including Safe Jai, accessible via a web browser.https://safejai.sa.chula.ac.th/th

What should I do if I want to cancel or reschedule an appointment?

Students can reschedule or cancel appointments themselves through the MindSpace system by going to:menu Mind Journey > Manage AppointmentsTo choose a new time or cancel the appointment.Please make arrangements at least 24 hours in advance of your appointment.
