Celebrate the Czechoslovak Centenary with an Evening of Traditional Music and Dance

The Centre for European Studies, Chulalongkorn University, in collaboration with the Embassy of the Czech Republic and the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Bangkok, cordially invite all to attend the “Czech and Slovak Century – An Evening of Traditional Music and Dance: Celebration of the Centenary of Czechoslovak Independence 1918“.  The celebration will be held on Monday, 11 June 2018, from 6 pm. to 9 pm. at the Music Hall, Culture Building, Chulalongkorn University.

18:40-19:00 hrs     Short Documentary Screening:

“Independence Day 28 October 1918 in Prague” (13 Mins) with introduction and commentary by Mr Aleš Vytečka, Deputy Head of Mission, Czech Embassy in Bangkok.

 

19:00-19:50 hrs    Traditional Music and Dance

Performance by Olšava Dance Group with bilingual introduction and commentary by Assist Prof. Verita Sriratana, PhD, Deputy Director for Academic Affairs, Centre for European Studies, Chulalongkorn University.

 

20:00-21:00 hrs     Refreshments and Viewing of the Exhibitions*

 

*After the performance, visitors are invited to enjoy the refreshments provided by the Czech and Slovak Embassies and to view exclusive exhibitions on Czechoslovak Independence, Czechoslovakia’s first President Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk (1850-1937) and Czechoslovak famous entrepreneur Tomáš Bat’a (1876-1932).
