ASEAN and Thailand’s Top Corporate Brands 2022

CBS ASEAN Top Corporate Brands

Chulalongkorn Business School’s Master in Branding and Marketing (MBM), in collaboration with The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) and Manager Online media, organized the 13th ASEAN and Thailand’s Top Corporate Brands 2022, Thailand’s biggest corporate brand value awards ceremony, on Wednesday January 18, 2023, at Chulalongkorn University Auditorium. Prof. Dr. Bundhit Eua-arporn, President of Chulalongkorn University, delivered a welcome speech and presented the awards for organizations with the highest corporate brand value in Thailand and ASEAN for the year 2022. The event also featured a talk under the theme of “ESG leads to corporate brands sustainability” by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wilert Puriwat, Dean of Chulalongkorn Business School, Adjunct Prof. Kitipong Urapeepattanapong, Chair of Thai Institute of Directors Association, and Mr. Vasit Taepaisitphongse, CEO and President of Betagro PCL., which was moderated by Asst. Prof. Dr. Ake Pattaratanakun, Head of the Department of Marketing, CBS.

CBS Valuation is Thailand’s first corporate brand value evaluation tool, which was developed by Prof. Emeritus Dr. Guntalee Ruenrom and Asst. Prof. Dr. Ake Pattaratanakun from the MBM program at CBS to encourage business executives to prioritize corporate brand value as a means to achieve long-term sustainable success. Corporate brand valuation is calculated from an average of the company’s financial statements in SET out of 3 years, with an integration of marketing, finance, and accounting concepts to ensure impartial corporate brand value represented by financial figures. The ASEAN and Thailand’s Top Corporate Brands 2022 are given in different categories as follows:

Thailand’ s Top Corporate Brand Hall of Fame

for companies with the highest corporate brand value for 5 consecutive years: No awards were given.

Thailand’s Top Corporate Brands:

13 companies were presented the award in the following categories:

Food and Beverage – Carabao Group (93,050 million THB), Banking – Tisco Financial Group (35,778 million THB), Capital and Stocks – Muangthai Capital (100,525 million THB), Insurance – TQM Alpha (27,274 million THB), Construction Materials – TOA Paint (Thailand) (54,414 million THB), Real Estate Development – Asset World Corp (74,556 million THB), Energy and Utilities – Gulf Energy Development (338,390 million THB), Media and Print – VGI (48,612 million THB), Transport and Logistics – Bangkok Expressway and Metro (94,428 million THB), Electronics – K.C.E. Electronics (43,784 million THB), and IT and communications – Total Access Communication (24,355 million THB).

ASEAN Top Corporate Brands:

six companies from six countries were awarded, namely Bank Central Asia Tbk Pt from Indonesia, IHH Healthcare Berhad from Malaysia, SM Investments Corporation from the Philippines, Thai Beverage PCL from Singapore, Airports of Thailand PCL from Thailand, and Vingroup JSC from Vietnam. The corporate brand value of Airports of Thailand PCL accounted for 767,669 million THB. Thai Beverage PCL is a Thai company which has been registered in Singapore’s stock exchange since 2006 and has the corporate brand value of 715,980 million THB.

The research on corporate brand valuation was awarded Distinguished Research Award from the National Research Office (NRCT) in 2014 and has been in operation for 13 consecutive years. The research yields social impact and receives much interest from the business sector due to its practicality and applicability as a tool to achieve corporates’ sustainable success.
