Chulalongkorn University’s Faculty of Engineering and Mitr Phol Sugar Open a New Program, Creating Digitally Competent Workforce for the Smart Agriculture Industry

The Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University, represented by Prof. Dr. Supot Teachavorasinskun, Dean, Prof. Dr. Tawatchai Charinpanitkul, Associate Dean (Academic Affairs), and Asst. Prof. Dr. Attawith Sudsang, Head of the Head of Computer Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University, have signed an MOU with Mitr Phol Sugar Corporation Ltd. and its affiliates, represented by Dr. Sarayuth Saengchan, Executive Vice President of Finance and Administration Group, and Mr. Atikom Kanchanavipu, Assistant Managing Director of Digital & Technology Transformation Group, on April 28, 2023, at the Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University.

The signing of this MOU is to mark the beginning of the new Computer Engineering and Digital Technology program, which can effectively produce many high-quality graduates to meet the needs of the technology industry and the smart agriculture industry. The program employs a Co-Creation model in which a private company can closely jointly develop the curriculum, both in terms of internships for students in every year and teaching and training provided by the company. The company will also have a hand in developing projects for students to gain experience from real problems in the industry and receive direct advice from the industry.

Graduates of this program will specialize in designing, analyzing and building applications of the software system, data analysis, computer systems and cloud networks, including artificial intelligence. They will also be equipped to apply engineering principles and use computers to solve problems in other professions.
