“The Gift” – Chulalongkorn University’s Original Short Film for Gifting on Graduation Day

Chulalongkorn University presents “The Gift”, an original short romantic film dedicated to new graduates, parents, students, and visiting guests during the commencement period. Every year, during the graduation period, decorative materials accumulate to over 4,000 kilos of waste per day.  In light of the upcoming commencement ceremonies this year, the University would like to encourage graduates and their guests to help prevent front-end waste by not giving gifts, such as flower bouquets, balloons, or other decorative materials, as a form of commendation.  In its place, congratulations to grads in the form of simple, but meaningful, gestures or practical gifts that will not be left behind are encouraged.

“The Gift” is produced by Chatchai KunPonpitak, directed by Chatshai Prasertmak, and features Siravitch Boonprasitthikarn from the Faculty of Communication Arts and Palisa Wanich from the Faculty of Commerce and Accountancy as lead actors.  Special honorary guest appearances as parents in the short clip include Professor Dr. Pirongrong Ramasoota (Vice President for Social Outreach and Global Engagement) and Assistant Professor Dr. Chaiyaporn Puprasert (Vice President for Student and Alumni Affairs).

Chula’s encouragement and support for research is excellent for teachers, students, and the public.
