Chula, Google, and ETDA Join Forces to Shape Thailand’s AI Future at Policy and Skilling Lab Seminar

July 31, 2024– Chulalongkorn University, in collaboration with Google and the Electronic Transactions Development Agency (ETDA), hosted the groundbreaking AI Policy and Skilling Lab Thailand seminar, a pivotal event aimed at transforming Thailand’s AI landscape. Held at the university’s Academic Resources Office, the seminar brought together leading minds from government, industry, and academia to discuss the course for the country’s AI applications and future.

The seminar was inaugurated by Prof. Dr. Wilert Puriwat, Acting President of Chulalongkorn University, who emphasized the critical role of AI in shaping Thailand’s economic and technological advancements.
The AI Policy and Skilling Lab Thailand seminar focused on leveraging AI to drive positive change, with key discussions and training sessions dedicated to the application of AI technologies, the development of forward-thinking policies, and the enhancement of AI capabilities across sectors. A highlight of the seminar was the call for stronger collaboration between the public and private sectors, urging the industry and institutions to work together to maximize the benefits and use of AI for Thailand and ensure that the country is fully prepared to seize future innovation opportunities. Experts presented policy recommendations designed to position Thailand as a key player in AI innovation while ensuring ethical and responsible use.
