Chula Clinches HR Innovation Award as First State-Supervised University Recognized at Organizational Level

Chulalongkorn University has been awarded the HR Innovation Award by the Personnel Management Association of Thailand (PMAT) in collaboration with the Thailand Productivity Institute. This prestigious recognition highlights the university’s national-level excellence in HR innovation.

The award was received on behalf of the university by Professor Dr. Wilert Puriwat, President of Chulalongkorn University, along with Professor Dr. Kanaphon Chanhom, Vice President; Mr. Pokai Sriratanobhas, Assistant to the President for Human Resources; Ms. Nusara Pankrod, Director of the Human Resources Office; and the HR team. The award was presented by Dr. Suvit Maesincee, former Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation, during Thailand HR Day 2024, held on November 26, 2024, at the Centara Grand Hotel at Central Plaza.
Innovative Use of Generative AI in HR
Chulalongkorn University stood out for its implementation of Generative AI to foster a learning culture and develop the CUNEX Staff Platform, serving over 8,000 personnel. This AI-enabled HR service offers benefits such as guidance on welfare, rights, professional development, and career progression. This milestone marks the first time a state-supervised university has been recognized with the HR Innovation Award at the organizational level.
Strategic Preparation for Educational Transformation
The university has actively prepared for the rapidly evolving global education landscape. By attracting talented professionals for teaching, administrative, and professional roles, Chulalongkorn aims to enhance its operations’ value and quality. The HR Ecosystem at Chulalongkorn is designed to support high-impact work through a productive working environment, digital technology adoption, and a strong focus on Upskilling and Reskilling initiatives. AI is central to these efforts, assisting in HR management and fostering a Digital and Learning Culture both internally and externally. This ecosystem also shares its HR development knowledge with entrepreneurs in the vicinity of the university.
Innovative Technologies Enhancing HR Services
To improve work efficiency, Chulalongkorn launched the HR Self-Service System and partnered with Kasikorn Bank to develop the CUNEX Staff platform. This platform focuses on enhancing skills and quality of life for university staff. It features multiple innovations, including:
- AI Recommendations for Career Development
- Dynamic Facial Recognition for identity verification and access to HR services
- CUNEX AI Staff, which summarizes news, personal development tips, university policies, and strategies tailored to each individual (Individualized Development).
These initiatives aim to ensure that every staff member experience both convenience and professional growth, creating a forward-thinking and supportive university environment.
