Chula Hosts “Chula Townhall” to Unveil a Student-Centered Vision for Comprehensive Development and Share New Year Joy with the Chula Community 

On December 19, 2024, Chulalongkorn University organized the “Chula Townhall: The President Meets the Chula Community” held at Sala Phra Kieo. The event showcased the vision, strategies, and goals for the university’s development, presented by Professor Dr. Wilert Puriwat, President of Chulalongkorn University, and brought New Year cheer to the university’s staff and attendees.   

A Message of Hope and Inspiration 

Professor Dr. Wilert Puriwat, President of Chulalongkorn University, remarked that the “Chula Townhall” offers a special opportunity for the university’s administration and community to connect and show encouragement. “This New Year, I wish to present the gift of hope and inspiration to everyone, empowering us to move forward with joy and confidence,” he said.   

The event served as a platform for discussing collaborative approaches to enhance education quality and overall well-being, placing students at the heart of the university’s initiatives. Professor Dr. Wilert emphasized that the collective strength of the Chula community will help propel the university toward greater growth and advancement. He outlined Chulalongkorn’s strategy to enhance internationalization while improving staff welfare to ensure a happy and productive workforce. Furthermore, he reaffirmed the university’s commitment to social contributions while strengthening partnerships with external organizations.   

“This event reflects Chulalongkorn’s strategic emphasis on fostering happiness and sustainable progress. I sincerely thank all members of the Chula community for their unwavering support. May the New Year bring joy, success, and inspiration for building a brighter future together,” he concluded.   

Festive Atmosphere and Activities 

The Chula Townhall event unfolded in a warm and lively atmosphere, celebrating the upcoming New Year 2025. It emphasized stronger connections between the university’s administration and community through various engaging activities. Highlights included a live music performance by BANdSHI, a photo booth for capturing cherished memories, game stalls, and lucky draws. Attendees also enjoyed culinary delights from popular Banthat Thong eateries.   

In a special gesture, the first 800 online registrants received a New Year Special Gift along with a 60-day accident insurance coverage.   

The event received widespread acclaim from participants, who thanked the university for organizing an occasion that brought happiness, unity and inspiration to the Chula community.
