On December 14, 2024, at 6:20 PM, His Majesty the King and Her Majesty the Queen graciously made an appearance at the Amphorn Sathan Throne Hall, Dusit Palace. On this occasion, His Majesty granted an audience to Professor Dr. Surakiart Sathirathai, Chairman of Chulalongkorn University Council, accompanied by senior administrators from Chulalongkorn University. At this ceremony, they presented a Doctor of Education in Curriculum and Teaching (Honoris Causa), along with the Royal Patron’s Gown, insignia, and certificate, to His Majesty the King.
His Majesty the King has undertaken numerous initiatives that have significantly benefited the nation and its people, particularly in the field of education. His efforts reflect the continuation of His Father, the Late King’s royal aspirations, including the provision of royal funds to the Ministry of Education to establish secondary schools in various regions and the donation of modern educational equipment to enhance access to teaching and learning resources.
Additionally, His Majesty has expanded educational opportunities for youth through various initiatives, such as supporting the “His Royal Highness Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn Education Fund” to provide scholarships. He has endorsed over 390 educational and social welfare projects, greatly contributing to the development of education for children, youth, and the general public.
His Majesty also places great emphasis on education for sustainable development. He has given out royal land to the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives for the establishment of the “Kaset Wichaya Agricultural Clinic,” which disseminates research findings and agricultural technologies from the Royal Development Study Centers. This initiative supports the creation of agricultural research curricula tailored to specific regions, enabling people to study, train, and apply the knowledge to benefit their communities.
