Chula Professor Appointed as Sustainable Ocean Ambassador (SOA) for Asia and the Pacific Region

On 5 June 2019, Assoc.Prof. Dr. Suchana Chavanich, Deputy Managing Director of Chula Unisearch and professor at the Department of Marine Science, Faculty of Science, Chulalongkorn University was selected as one of  the Sustainable Ocean Ambassadors (SOA) from Agricultural and Food Marketing Association for Asia and the Pacific (AFMA – FAO).  The appointment was made during the World Environment Day and World Oceans Day at the Siam Society.

Dr. Suchana is a prominent advocate for marine biodiversity. Her research not only focuses on the conservation and restoration of marine ecosystems, particularly in coral reefs, but she also dedicates herself to study the impact of climate change and microplastic pollution on the marine environment.
