Chulalongkorn University’s Education Lecturer Trained a Thai Music Ensemble to Win the National Contest 

Chalermpan Ruwicha, a lecturer at the Music Education Section, Department of Art, Music, and Dance Education, Faculty of Education, Chulalongkorn University, has been invited to coach the Singharaja traditional Thai music ensemble from Mathayom Wat Singh School for a national traditional Thai music contest. The group won the first prize with the trophy from Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn in the national traditional Thai music contest organized as part of the commemorative activities on the Memorial Day of Somdet Chaophraya Borom Maha Sri Suriyawongse (Chuang Bunnag) on January 17, 2025, at Bansomdejchaopraya Rajabhat University.

This cooperation with the Thai music ensemble is part of the academic services offered by the Faculty of Education, Chulalongkorn University, which focuses on transferring knowledge and developing Thai music capabilities for educational institutions and Thai youth. The rehearsal process emphasizes quality ensemble performance, enhancing the balance of musical elements, and instilling Thai music concepts that can be practically applied within the framework of Music Pedagogy and Music Education.
