On May 2, 2025, Chulalongkorn University held a press conference to launch the NEXUS AI Program—an executive-level artificial intelligence curriculum—at the CBS Cinema, Chaiyossombat 1 Building, Faculty of Commerce and Accountancy. This initiative is a collaboration between Chula’s Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Commerce and Accountancy, and six major national and international AI partners. The program aims to deepen executive-level AI knowledge, foster AI-capable leadership across sectors, and build a network of future-ready leaders to propel Thailand toward a competitive and sustainable future with AI.
The launch was presided over by Professor Dr. Wilert Puriwat, President of Chulalongkorn University, with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Manoj Lohatepanont, Program Director, delivering the project overview.
Professor Dr. Wilert emphasized that Chula views AI not merely as a technology, but as a tool to improve quality of life, reduce inequality, and create long-term sustainability. Guided by the principle of “AI for Good,” the university aims to drive national transformation through the NEXUS program by building a network of AI-savvy leaders capable of applying the technology in governance, policy-making, and organizational management. More than just training, NEXUS is intended to lay the foundation for a national High-Level AI Leadership Network, fostering strategic collaboration between the public, private, and academic sectors.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Manoj Lohatepanont explained that the program, titled “NEXUS: Network for Executive Xceleration & Unbounded Scale”, is designed to develop visionary leaders capable of leveraging AI for strategic impact and sustainable development. The goals include enhancing strategic AI awareness, understanding AI’s economic and social impacts, and transforming organizations into AI-driven entities.
NEXUS AI is a joint effort between Chulalongkorn University and six key organizations:
Program implementation is overseen by Chula’s Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Commerce and Accountancy, Chula Unisearch, Chulalongkorn AI Center, and Degree Plus Co., Ltd.
