Prof. Dr. Kumkom Pornprasit, Dean of Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts, Chulalongkorn University, has signed an MOU with Prof. Dr. Rihito YAMAMOTO, Dean of Faculty of Education, Hokkaido University of Education, with Prof. Dr. Ayumu NOJO, Deputy Dean, and Prof. Dr. Takako Iwazawa, Head of the Department of Music, Hokkaido University of Education, as well as Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pornprapit Phoasavadi, Deputy Dean for International Affairs, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pattara Komkam, Head of the Department of Music, Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts, Chulalongkorn University, as witnesses. Asst. Prof. Dr. Vitchatalum Laovanich, Assistant to the President of Chulalongkorn University for Art and Culture Engagement, was also present.
This collaboration has led to faculty and researcher exchanges and joint academic conferences. Later this year, 10 exchange students from Hokkaido University of Education will be sent on an exchange program in music and performing arts at the Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts, Chulalongkorn University, from December 1-15, 2025. They are going to study Thai music culture in depth together with the Center of Excellence for Thai Music and Culture Research, Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts, Chulalongkorn University. Additionally, Prof. Dr. Takako Iwasawa will travel to conduct music research in Thailand under the Japan Society for the Promotion of Sciences (JSPS) research grant in late 2025.
