The National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT), Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, held a press conference announcing “Thailand Research Expo 2025” on June 1, 2025, at Centara Grand and Bangkok Convention Centre, CentralWorld, with Dr. Wiparat De-Ong, Director of NRCT, convening the press conference.
The event featured discussions on various topics:
Chulalongkorn University also contributed an exhibition of research titled “Sweetness Revolution: Elevating Thai Flowers to Health Products” by Prof. Dr. Supaart Sirikantaramas and his research team from the Faculty of Science. The research focuses on developing enzyme technology that can reduce sucrose in fruits and convert it into prebiotic fructooligosaccharides (FOS), which are beneficial for intestinal health and help slow sugar absorption. This adds value to substandard fruits, reduces agricultural waste, and can be developed into various health products including reduced-sugar fruit juices, prebiotic ice cream, and healthy dried fruits.
