From June 12 to 24, 2025, Professor Dr. Wilert Puriwat, President of Chulalongkorn University, led students from the Master in Branding and Marketing (MBM) program, Department of Marketing, Faculty of Commerce and Accountancy, Chulalongkorn University, to study at the University of Cambridge, United Kingdom. The students attended the Global Seminar in Branding course at the Cambridge Judge Business School.
On this occasion, both students and faculty were honored to attend a lecture by Lord Wilson of Dinton, former Cabinet Secretary and Head of the British Civil Service, who delivered a special lecture on “Global Branding” at King’s College. He emphasized that building a sustainable brand requires time, excellence, integrity, and the accumulation of public trust.
Another key highlight of the program was the opportunity for students to participate in activities and visit the Cambridge Union Society (CUS), one of the oldest and most influential debating societies in the world. For over 200 years, this platform has welcomed countless world leaders, thinkers, politicians, and scholars. Experiencing the environment of CUS broadened the students’ worldview and deepened their understanding of the power of communication, critical thinking, and the ideological role of branding.
The faculty members accompanying the students on this trip included Associate Professor Dr. Ake Pattaratanakun, Head of the Department of Marketing and Chair of the MBM program; Associate Professor Dr. Nuttapol Assarut and Assistant Professor Ratirath Na Songkhla, who shared their expertise and closely guided and supported the students throughout the program.
This study trip provided students with the invaluable opportunity to learn from global leaders in management and branding, inspiring them to advance their marketing knowledge in a profound way within an international context. The program marks the seventh consecutive year of collaboration between the Department of Marketing, Faculty of Commerce and Accountancy, Chulalongkorn University, and the Cambridge Judge Business School.
