The Social Research Institute of Chulalongkorn University, led by Associate Professor Dr. Unruan Leknoi, Director of the Institute; Ms. Wichaya Komin, Deputy Director for Research and International Affairs; Dr. Philip Cho and Dr. Afshana Parven, researchers at the Institute; and Ms. Chonnikan Sae-lim, International Affairs Officer, attended the “Social Business Day 2025,” an international conference held from June 27–28, 2025, in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
This conference attracted thought leaders, academics, entrepreneurs, and youth from around the world, united by a shared goal to advance the concepts of Zero Poverty, Zero Unemployment, and Zero Net Carbon Emissions, in order to build an equitable, inclusive, and sustainable society in all dimensions.
Under the collaboration between the Social Research Institute of Chulalongkorn University and the Yunus Centre—formalized through a memorandum of understanding and the establishment of the Yunus–Chulalongkorn University Social Business Center—the institute has played a significant role in knowledge exchange and driving systemic change through the application of social business concepts.
Throughout the two-day conference, the Social Research Institute of Chulalongkorn University engaged in both the main stage and breakout sessions, covering key global issues such as health system reform, youth empowerment, social education, financial inclusion, and the role of business in creating a fair and equitable future.
The Social Research Institute of Chulalongkorn University remains committed to its mission of leveraging academic knowledge and innovation to create tangible change in people’s lives. It also aims to expand its impact on the international stage through strategic partnerships with leading organizations worldwide, with the firm belief that “a sustainable society begins by leaving no one behind.” The institute will continue to uphold its role as a leader in community-focused development and help build a world where everyone has an equal opportunity to thrive.
