AI for Creativity: Chula, Google, and ETDA Empower Thai Policymakers and Creators

Chulalongkorn University, in collaboration with Google and the Electronic Transactions Development Agency (ETDA), hosted the AI Policy and Skilling Lab Thailand on July 14, 2025, at Room 701, Chaloem Rajakumari Building (Chamchuri 10 Building). Now in its second year, the program aims to raise AI awareness among policymakers, executives, and practitioners in Thailand, enabling them to stay informed, understand, and appropriately leverage AI technologies. The event was opened by Professor Dr. Wilert Puriwat, President of Chulalongkorn University, and Dr. Sak Sekkhuntod, Advisor to the ETDA.

The AI Policy and Skilling Lab Thailand marks another key milestone in strengthening Thailand’s AI ecosystem. It aims to empower policy influencers and skills developers to promote the effective and ethical use of AI, maximizing benefits for Thai society. This year’s theme, “AI for Creativity,” focuses on fostering creativity through the application of AI across various contexts, while emphasizing the importance of ethical, transparent, and trustworthy AI use in line with international best practices. The goal is sustainable development and the holistic enhancement of human potential in both public and private sectors.

Event highlights included:
- A keynote speech titled “The Creative Revolution: AI as a Liberator of Human Potential” by Doron Avni, Vice President of Government Affairs and Public Policy for Emerging Markets at Google;
- A keynote address on AI and Creativity by Associate Professor Dr. Voraprapa Nakavachara from the Faculty of Economics, Chulalongkorn University;
- A session on “The Benefits of AI for Thailand’s Creative Industries,” along with showcases of creative works and practical lessons from Thai artists and creators who utilize AI in their creative processes.
