Chulalongkorn University, led by Prof. Dr. Wilert Puriwat, President; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Palanee Ammaranond, Vice President; and Asst. Prof. Dr. Tewarit Sarachana, Assistant to the President for International Affairs and Networks, Quality Assurance, and EdPEx, together with deans and faculty executives, welcomed a delegation from Toyota Technological Institute (TTI), Japan. The delegation was headed by Mr. Satoru Nakagawa, Managing Director of the Toyota School Foundation, and Prof. Dr. Itaru Kamiya from the Quantum Interface Laboratory, to discuss potential collaboration in organizing a Summer School program with Chulalongkorn University’s faculties and research institutes.
The visit by Toyota Technological Institute (TTI) from August 18–19, 2025, began with a meeting at Chula’s Faculty of Engineering. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Witaya Wannasuphoprasit, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, and faculty members introduced the International School of Engineering (ISE) program and presented research in automotive engineering and mobility technology, which are areas of excellence at Chulalongkorn.
The TTI delegation then met with Prof. Dr. Pranut Potiyaraj, Dean of the Faculty of Science, toured the Chula Museum of Natural History, and learned about the faculty’s international programs. They also explored opportunities for TTI to participate in the AUN Summer Camp, which promotes cultural exchange among ASEAN and international students.
On the evening of August 18, 2025, Prof. Dr. Wilert Puriwat, President of Chulalongkorn University, hosted a welcome reception to strengthen the long-standing academic relationship and reaffirm the shared vision of advancing education and research on a global scale.
On August 19, 2025, the TTI delegation visited the College of Petroleum and Petrochemicals, where they were welcomed by Prof. Dr. Pramoch Rangsunvigit, the Dean of the College of Petroleum and Petrochemicals. Discussions focused on tailoring the Summer School program to align with TTI students’ academic and research interests. The delegation also toured Chulalongkorn University Museum and International House (iHouse) to experience cultural aspects and facilities designed to support international students and researchers.
Over the two-day visit, both institutions reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening academic collaboration and international exchange. The discussions laid the foundation for developing a Summer School program that integrates Chulalongkorn University’s academic excellence and Thailand’s rich cultural heritage with TTI’s expertise in technology and innovation. This initiative aligns with Chulalongkorn’s international development strategy—International Growth, Intellectual Growth, and Integrated Growth—while also supporting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
