Bangkok, Thailand – A team of talented students from Chulalongkorn University has been selected as one of the finalists in the prestigious AI x City Climate Action Hackathon 2025, a global innovation challenge that leverages artificial intelligence to tackle pressing urban climate issues.
Competing under the team’s name SEEMA, the multidisciplinary group comprises students from four academic departments, including Urban and Regional Planning, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, and Integrated Innovation. Their selection places them among a handful of top teams from around the world invited to pitch their solutions at the final event during New York Climate Week on September 22, 2025.
Hosted in a hybrid format—both in person in New York and virtually—the final round offers teams the chance to win USD 15,000 in seed funding, a finalist certificate, and entry into a post-event acceleration program to further develop their projects.
Team SEEMA members include:
Their innovative climate-tech proposal exemplifies Chulalongkorn University’s commitment to sustainability, interdisciplinary collaboration, and global leadership in AI-driven solutions.
“We’re honored to represent Chulalongkorn University on this global stage,” said Michael Ojo, the team leader. “This opportunity underscores the power of cross-disciplinary teamwork in addressing complex climate challenges through innovation.”
The Chula community is encouraged to support and celebrate this milestone.
