Chula and Mexico’s UNAM Sign Academic Cooperation Agreement

On October 6, 2025, Prof. Dr. Wilert Puriwat, President of Chulalongkorn University, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Palanee Ammaranond, Vice President of Chulalongkorn University, welcomed H.E. Ms. Ilse Lilian Ferrer Silva, Ambassador of Mexico to Thailand; Dr. Adalberto Noyola Robles, Director of the Representative Office of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) in China; and Mr. Pablo Mendoza Ruiz, Academic and Cultural Coordinator of UNAM in China, at the reception room on the 2nd floor of Chamchuri 4 Building.


On this occasion, Prof. Dr. Wilert Puriwat and H.E. Ms. Ilse Lilian Ferrer Silva signed a formal Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote academic cooperation and cultural exchange between the two countries’ leading higher education institutions.

The signing of the MoU between Chulalongkorn University and UNAM aims to strengthen collaboration in various fields—particularly in languages, culture, social sciences, and engineering. This partnership marks another important milestone in the relationship between Thailand’s leading university and Mexico’s largest and most prestigious university, which has a student body of more than 300,000.




Both universities reaffirmed their shared commitment to promoting student exchange programs, joint research, and academic collaborations to build a foundation for deeper and more sustainable cooperation in the future.
