SMBC Scholarship Award Ceremony for Chula Students, Academic Year 2024
Chulalongkorn University, through the Office of Student Affairs, organized the SMBC Bangkok Branch Scholarship Program Award Ceremony for the Academic Year 2024 on October 15, 2025, at Meeting Room 5, 2nd Floor, Chamchuri 5 Building.
The event began with a report by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pakorn Varanusupakul, Assistant to the President for Student Affairs, followed by a speech of appreciation from Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sukanya Sompiboon, Vice President of Chulalongkorn University. Then, Mr. Norihiko Nakamura, Managing Director of Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, Bangkok Branch, delivered a keynote address. A token of appreciation was presented to Mr. Nakamura by Prof. Dr. Sukanya Sompiboon.
On this occasion, Mr. Norihiko Nakamura also presided over the scholarship award ceremony, granting scholarships to six students from the following faculties:
Each student received a scholarship of 40,000 baht, totaling 240,000 baht in scholarships awarded by the bank this year.
Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation has been awarding scholarships to Chulalongkorn University students since 2018, to encourage and support outstanding students who are committed to engaging in social contribution activities.
