This international music and dance performance was co-hosted by the Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts and the Office of Art & Culture, Chulalongkorn University, in collaboration with Republic Polytechnic, Singapore. The event was honored by the presence of Mr. Dozi Adeson, Minister Counselor of the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Thailand, and Ms. Quek Shei Ting, Deputy Head of Mission of the Embassy of the Republic of Singapore in Thailand, who attended the opening ceremony and the performances.
The event also welcomed a delegation from Republic Polytechnic, led by Dr. Terence Chong, Director of the Office of International Relations; Mr. Saideep Issrani, Manager of International Relations; and Ms. Ashley Chua, Senior Director (Student Services). The Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts at Chulalongkorn University has maintained a long-standing academic partnership with educational institutions in Singapore, having exchanged more than 200 students since the collaboration agreement with Republic Polytechnic began in 2017. This has been under the guidance of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pornprapit Phoasavadi, Deputy Dean for International Affairs. The Symphony of Cultures concept was initiated through the collaboration of Mr. Saideep Issrani, Manager of the International Office at Republic Polytechnic, Singapore, and Dr. Paphutsorn Wongratanapitak, an alumna of the Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts and founder/director of Cultural Performance Co., Ltd.
In the first semester of the 2025 academic year, 12 exchange students from Republic Polytechnic and Temasek Polytechnic helped plan the program sequence, coordinated with performers, handled stage, lighting, and sound management, and served as co-hosts alongside Chulalongkorn University students throughout the event.
The faculty was also honored to welcome Madame Som Said, a senior performing artist from Singapore, who led the Sri Warisan performing arts group in presenting a specially choreographed piece titled “Harmony”, which closed the event and left a lasting impression on the audience. The overall event was a resounding success, strengthening cultural ties between nations and promoting international cultural learning and exchange through the performing arts.
