Chula Pharmaceutical Sciences Professor Wins Platinum Award at KIDE 2025

A lecturer from the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Chulalongkorn University has received the Platinum Award at the 2025 Kaohsiung International Invention and Design EXPO (KIDE 2025), held December 4–6, 2025, at the Kaohsiung Exhibition Center Hall 1 in Kaohsiung, Taiwan.

Prof. Dr. Rungsun Rerknimitr, Assistant to the President of Chulalongkorn University for Innovation Affairs, congratulated Assoc. Prof. Dr. Supakarn Chamni of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences on her award-winning innovation, “Q-E-S-T 3-in-1 Alcohol Test Kit.” The self-testing kit is designed for preliminary alcohol detection and helps verify the quality, safety, and compliance of alcohol used as disinfectants in gel and liquid cleaning products. The chemicals used in the testing process are safe and have been certified by the National Institute of Metrology (Thailand).

The innovation earned both the Platinum Award and the Excellent Invention Award (NRCT Special Award) from the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT).

Organized by the World Invention Intellectual Property Associations (WIIPA) and the Taiwan Invention Products Promotion Association (TIPPA), KIDE 2025 is an international platform that brings together inventors from more than 30 countries, providing opportunities to showcase innovations, exchange ideas and build global networks.
