Chula Signs MOU with BNH Hospital to Advance Patient Care and Academic Excellence in Dentistry

This MOU aims to promote collaboration in the development of patient care and academic activities.  The partnership focuses on improving hospital quality and standards, enhancing the quality of patient treatment, developing standards for dental and oral and maxillofacial surgical services, and fostering the exchange of knowledge and professional experience between personnel of both institutions.

Prof. Dr. Pornchai Jansisyanont, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, Chulalongkorn University, stated that as a public-sector institution, the faculty plays a crucial role in providing care for a large number of patients while facing limitations in time and resources at certain periods—particularly for surgeries outside regular government working hours. Collaboration with a private hospital, therefore, helps expand patient options, enabling access to standardized and more flexible treatment. At the same time, the faculty possesses strong expertise in knowledge, research, and innovation. When combined with private-sector service systems, this collaboration will help elevate treatment quality, build a robust medical database, and serve as a model for public-private partnerships that place the greatest benefit to patients at the center.

The dean further added that the collaboration between the Faculty of Dentistry, Chulalongkorn University, and BNH Hospital builds upon existing networks to deliver tangible benefits across multiple dimensions, including clinical care, operational flexibility, and knowledge exchange. This is particularly evident in learning about service-minded approaches and private-sector service standards, which can be applied to improve public-sector service systems and enhance the patient experience. The partnership also creates opportunities for innovation development, research, and the translation of outcomes into practical applications, while strengthening the faculty’s image and capacity through collaboration with a private hospital operating at international standards. The shared goal of this partnership is to elevate treatment quality and maximize benefits for patients.

The sense of kinship and warmth found in the Chula community is priceless and a treasure worth keeping.
