Chula Provides Rabies Vaccination Services in Chonburi

The Rabies Prevention Club (Academic Affairs Division) of the Student Association, Faculty of Veterinary Science, Chulalongkorn University, held the second rabies prevention campaign camp for the 2025 academic year on March 14, 2026, at Mon Nang Subdistrict, Phanat Nikhom District, Chonburi Province. The project was led by Ms. Pitchapat Thanapatcharoen, the student project coordinator, under the supervision of Associate Professor Dr. Channarong Rodkhum and Assistant Professor Dr. Chutamas Benjanirat, faculty advisors.

A team of 160 veterinary students participated in the outreach, providing rabies vaccinations for dogs and cats in the community. The initiative aimed to raise awareness and prevent rabies, a serious zoonotic disease, while promoting proper and sustainable vaccination practices for pets within the community.

This one-day campaign provided vaccinations to a total of 2,307 animals. Operations were divided into eight sub-units, covering areas including Chumsaeng Sriwanaram Temple and nearby communities such as Wat Thung Hiang, Ban Nong Yang, and Wat Mon Nang. Services were delivered both proactively through door-to-door visits and via designated service points at each unit.

The project was carried out with the cooperation of the Mon Nang Subdistrict Municipality and excellent support from Mr. Nopparit Sermsaksasitorn, Mayor of Mon Nang Subdistrict, to ensure sustainable rabies prevention efforts.

Chula’s encouragement and support for research is excellent for teachers, students, and the public.
