Chula Ranked No. 1 in Thailand in THE Asia University Rankings 2026 

Chulalongkorn University has been ranked the No. 1 university in Thailand in the list of the best higher education institutions in Asia by Times Higher Education (THE Asia University Rankings 2026). The results were officially announced on April 23, 2026. This year, a total of 929 institutions were ranked. Additionally, Chulalongkorn University was placed 12th in ASEAN. 

Top 5 Thai Universities Ranked by Times Higher Education (THE): 

1. Chulalongkorn University (Rank 134) 
2. Mahidol University (Rank 146) 
3. King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (Rank 201–250) 
4. Chiang Mai University (Rank 251–300) 
5. King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok (Rank 401–500) 

The THE Asia University Rankings 2026 are based on five performance indicators: 

• Teaching (24.5%)
• Research Environment (28%) 
• Research Quality (30%) 
• Industry Income (10%) 
• International Outlook (7.5%)
