Prof. Dr. Parichart Sthapitanonda, Vice President of Chulalongkorn University, represented the university president in attending the THE Asia Universities Summit 2026, held from April 22–24, 2026, at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China. The event was organized by Times Higher Education under the theme “Igniting Global Transformation: Asia’s Leadership.”
The Vice President participated in discussions on the topics of “Advancing universities towards an AI future” and “Trusted AI in higher education and research: Governance, capability, and institutional strategy,” aiming to prepare universities to handle the rapid advancement of AI.
THE Asia Universities Summit 2026 brought together more than 600 participants, including senior executives from leading universities and representatives from various organizations and agencies, from 35 countries worldwide. The summit focused on exploring Asia’s role as a leader in global transformation and the role of universities in shaping the future of humanity in an era of change.
