The Social Development and Volunteer Division of the Student Union, Chulalongkorn University Business School, organized the annual Social Development and Volunteer Camp for the 2025 academic year from April 4–6, 2026, in Phetchaburi Province. The area is significant for its forest and wildlife ecosystems, which allow students to learn and develop awareness of sustainable natural resource conservation.

At the Social Development and Volunteer Camp, students participated in activities at several locations as follows:

Students learned about the local way of life through traditional activities such as making salted eggs and thong muan (crispy rolled wafers), using natural ingredients and traditional production methods. They also took part in making seed balls, which were used for seed dispersal in mountainous areas currently being restored by the community, helping to regenerate the forests.

Students engaged in volunteer activities as part of a team, including preparing food for animals, making toys for elephants, cleaning living areas, and scrubbing animal enclosures. These facilities serve as habitats for rescued wildlife that have been abused or illegally kept. Students also attended a lecture that deepened their understanding of animal welfare and wildlife conservation.

Students participated in tree propagation activities, beginning with learning how to collect seedlings from the park’s mangrove forest areas. These were then cultivated and cared for as part of efforts to expand green spaces and restore coastal ecosystems.

Through field activities at this Royal Project, students explored sustainable environmental management practices, such as waste decomposition using cement tanks and natural wastewater treatment systems. They also learned about the roles of plants and animals in maintaining ecological balance and environmental richness.

The Social Development and Volunteer Camp in Phetchaburi Province provided students with valuable hands-on experience while fostering a sense of social and environmental responsibility, helping to develop them into key contributors to sustainable societal development.

Chula’s encouragement and support for research is excellent for teachers, students, and the public.
